The Wonderworks, have been busy in their workshop building a festive display in time for Christmas for The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead.
This is the second installation that The Wonderworks have undertaken for The Marlowes, which has just celebrated 25 years since the shopping centre opened. Last year, they built a unique display with the theme ‘Letters to Santa’ which encouraged youngsters to write a special letter to Santa and deliver it in person to the man himself.
The display incorporated a 10ft ice mountain dotted with animatronic characters including penguins, a polar bear, snowman, Christmas trees and festive signage with the animatronic designed to be more child-friendly.
With this years’ theme being ‘Festive Flight Attendant’, The Wonderworks are currently putting the finishing touches to the display, which will see The Wonderworks transport The Marlowes back to a more traditional Christmas. The display will feature animated reindeer characters and large oversized props to support the theme topped off with artificial snow, flitter glitter and Christmas trees. With the attraction being free to attend, members of the public will be able to donate to local charities via the large “present” donation point, which will form part of the display.
Vince Williams, Centre Director said: ‘Last year’s Wonderworks display made our grotto come alive and proved really popular with our shoppers, the dancing penguins were a particular highlight! I am looking forward to seeing this year’s plans come to life for our festive flight attendants themed grotto, which I’m sure will once again provide our shoppers with a magical Christmas experience.’
Rob Curran, founder of The Wonderworks added: ‘It’s a pleasure to once again be working with The Marlowes, we are delighted that last years installation was such a success and that our relationship continues to grow. We are once again looking forward to supporting The Marlowes in providing shoppers and their families with a Christmas experience they won’t forget”.
The Marlowes ‘Festive Flight Attendant’ Christmas display goes live on 29th November.
